Data were collected through questionnaires administered to students and interviews conducted with oral expression teachers. The findings revealed that many students experience psychological, cognitive, and physiological symptoms of speaking anxiety. The study also showed that speech contests help learners gain confidence, improve oral communication skills, and participate more actively in speaking activities. Therefore, speech contests can be considered an effective pedagogical strategy for reducing glossophobia and enhancing students’ speaking performance. لذلك يمكن اعتبار مسابقات الخطابة استراتيجية تعليمية فعالة للحد من رهاب التحدث أمام الجمهور وتحسين الأداء الشفهي للمتعلمينenThe Effect of Speech Contests on Glossophobia among First-Year EFL Students at the University Centre of MaghniaThesis
