Il a commencé à tourmenter la plupart des familles et semer la peur chez les enfants. Cette tendance croissant est attribuée à la prolifération des médias sociaux. Exerçant ainsi une pression considérable sur l’état pour répondre aux appels des associations civiles et de l’opinion publique en faveur d’une intervention ferme pour enrayer cette criminalité. En réponse le législateur algérien a promulgué une loi spéciale pour lutter contre ce crime. Avec des sanctions plus sévères pour les coupables.
