Abstract: Children's folk song in Algeria is a vocal art form dedicated to children, carrying within it their identity, the culture of their society, its customs, traditions, and beliefs. It is considered one of the most important forms of oral expression transmitted across generations and preserved in the collective memory. Its function is not limited to entertainment and amusement; rather, it also performs educational, social, and cultural roles that contribute to children's socialization and help them acquire skills that facilitate their integration into their social environment. Children's folk songs vary according to the occasions and contexts in which they are performed. This study aims to provide an anthropological analytical reading of selected samples of children's folk songs in Algeria.
