    RESUME Le Vetting, inspection de contrôle moins médiatique que les autres types d’instruments de prévention, est un examen imposé par les compagnies pétrolières dans les années 1980, cet examen relatif à la qualité des navires, de ses managements techniques et commerciaux s’effectue au préalable de tout affrètement, ou à l’occasion d’une escale dans un des terminaux de d’une société pétrolière. Devenu un véritable label de qualité pour les entreprises qui exercent dans domaine du transport maritime des hydrocarbures qui doivent satisfaire aux standards imposés par les compagnies pétrolières, le Vetting est un outil indispensable pour l’amélioration à la fois de la compétitivité de l’entreprise et de sa part du marché, mais aussi pour la préservation de l’environnement et de la vie humaine. Abstract: The Vetting, a control inspection less known than other types of prevention instruments, is a review imposed by the oil companies in the 1980s, this review on the quality of ships, its technical and commercial management is carried out beforehand any charter, or during a stopover at one of the terminals of an oil company. Having become a real seal of quality for companies operating in the field of maritime transport of hydrocarbons that must meet the standards imposed by the oil companies, the Vetting is an indispensable tool for the improvement of both the competitiveness of the company and on its part of the market, but also for the preservation of the environment and human life. لملخص عملية مراقبة تقنية غير معروفة مقارنة بأدوات الحماية والوقاية الأخرى فرض من طرف الشركات البترولية بداية الثمانينات على نشاط النقل البحري للمحروقات على أنه اختبار لمعايير الجودة ومطابقة المعايير التقنية للناقلة البترولية بالنسبة لما هو معمول به من قوانين ومعاهدات دولية. بما أنه يوجب قبل كل عملية استئجار للناقلة البترولية أصبح بمثابة رمز لمطابقة المؤسسة للمعايير الدولية وعلامة لجودة نشاطها كما أصبح يمثل أداة أساسية تمكن المؤسسة المختصة في النقل البحري للمحروقات الابقاء على مكانتها التنافسية في السوق بما يتماشى مع مبادئ الحماية البيئية للمحيط البحري والحياة البشرية
