    Abstract: This research aims to pursue the topic of the crisis self in the Arabic novel, and this study was able to reveal its representations through analysis of the narrative structure, as well as from the characters employed by Youssef Zidane, to convey his ideology and his position on some common ideas and visions in his society, especially those related to the crisis and Westernization of its types, to conclude In conclusion, the subject of the self, the crisis, and literature are in a direct, complementary relationship. ملخّص البحث: يهدف هذا البحث إلى ملاحقة موضوع الذات المأزومة في الرواية العربية، واستطاعت هذه الدّراسة الكشف عن تمثلاتها عبر تحليل البنية السردية وكذا انطلاقا من الشخصيات التي وظفها يوسف زيدان، لتمرير إيديولوجيته وموقفه من بعض الأفكار والرؤى الشائعة في مجتمعه لا سيما تلك المرتبطة بالأزمة والتغرب بأنواعه، لنخلص ختاما إلى أنّ موضوع الذات والأزمة والأدب في علاقة طردية تكاملية.
