Abstract

الملخص تتناول هذه الرسالة تجربة الجالية العربية الأمريكية الغنية والمعقدة في الولايات المتحدة. تبدأ بتتبع موجات هجرتهم منذ أواخر القرن التاسع عشر وحتى اليوم، مع التأكيد على كيف أن التنوع الديني والثقافي ساهم في تشكيل هوية العربي الأمريكي. ثم تتطرق الدراسة إلى قضايا رئيسية مثل التمييز، التنميط، وصراعات الهوية، خاصة تلك المتعلقة بفقدان اللغة والصراعات بين الأجيال. وعلى الرغم من هذه التحديات، فقد قدم العرب الأمريكيون مساهمات مهمة في مجالات الأعمال، السياسة، العلوم، التعليم، ووسائل العالم. وكان الخراطم المدني والثقافي دور محوري في تشكيل الثقافة الأمريكية المعاصرة. وتُبرز الدراسة آليات التأقلم، والمرونة، والنضال المستمر من أجل التمثيل. وفي النهاية، تُصّور الدراسة العرب األمريكيين كمكون ديناميكي وأساسي في النسيج الوطن

Summary The rich and nuanced experience of the Arab American community in the US is examined in this dissertation. It starts by charting their waves of immigration from the late 19th century to the present, emphasizing how religious and cultural diversity shaped Arab American identity. Major issues like discrimination, stereotyping, and identity struggles—especially those related to language loss and generational conflict—are then covered in the study. Arab Americans have made important contributions to business, politics, science, education, and the media in spite of these challenges. Their civic and cultural involvement has been crucial in forming contemporary American culture. The community's coping mechanisms, resilience, and continuous fight for representation are highlighted in the piece. In the end, the study portrays Arab Americans as a dynamic and essential component of the national.
