معجم محيط المحيط لبطرس البستاني في ضوء الصناعة المعجمية الحديثة

Abstract

يعد محيط المحيط لبطرس البستاني من أبرز المعاجم العربية الحديثة التّي ظهرت في عصر النهضة، إذ يعد حلقة وصل بين الثراث المعجمي العربي والاتجاهات المعجمية الحديثة،فقد تميز المعجم بسعة مادته اللّغوية التّي ضمت ألفاظ عربية ومعرّبة ومولّدة، إضافة إلى ما ضمّه من معلومات لغوية وعلمية متنوعة أغنت المادة المعجمي، كما اعتمد مؤلفه الترتيب الألفبائي القائم على أوائل الحروف لتيسير البحث عن المداخل مع المحافظة على نظام الجذور العربية في تنظيم المادة المعجمية، مما أعطت هذه الخصائص لمحيط المحيط قيمة علمية كبيرة وساهمت في ترسيخ مكانته ضمن المعاجم العربية الحديثة.

Summary : Butrus al-Bustani's *Muhit al-Muhit* is one of the most prominent modern Arabic dictionaries to emerge during the Renaissance era. It serves as a link between the Arabic lexicographical heritage and modern lexicographical trends. The dictionary is distinguished by the breadth of its linguistic content, which includes Arabic, Arabized, and neologisms, in addition to a wealth of diverse linguistic and scientific information that enriches the lexicographical material. Furthermore, its author adopted an alphabetical arrangement based on the first letter of the alphabet to facilitate searching for entries while preserving the system of Arabic roots in organizing the lexicographical material. These characteristics have given *Muhit al-Muhit* significant scholarly value and contributed to establishing its position among modern Arabic dictionaries.
